How to read a Certificate of Analysis
What the lines on a lab report mean, and what to check first.
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is a document from a laboratory that describes a specific batch. The most important thing is that the batch or lot number on the COA matches the number on your vial label.
Look for the laboratory name, the test date, the method used (for example HPLC or mass spectrometry) and the result. A real report names who tested it and when.
A COA describes one batch only. That is why we publish reports per batch, and why you can look up your batch on our lab reports page.
